Adaptive Teaching Inset

This training will unpick strategies for adaptive teaching and will look at why this is the approach that is being used in schools, rather than differentiation. Staff will go away with a good understanding of the latest thinking and research, but most importantly practical strategies for teaching lessons that help make all pupils make good progress. It will also unpick the key area of responding and adapting teaching within the lesson – looking closely at the area of questioning and adapting tasks.

Objective: By the end of the training teachers will be able to identify many practical, exciting teaching strategies that they would like to use in lessons. Understand the importance of adaptive teaching and teaching that promotes challenge and ‘teaching to the top’. Have a clear idea about how the strategies can be incorporated into lessons– feel inspired and motivated to develop these techniques.
